Designed by acclaimed designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, the bedroom is a relaxing retreat with nods to 1930s glamour. Lawrence Pollard took to Instagram, sharing a series of photos of the elegant room, captioning the post that it was “designed to be her personal sanctuary, a sanctuary of beauty and tranquility, a place where the supermodel can totally unwind.” Revival and renewal.
The room is the epitome of decor with neutral tones, and features a custom-designed Martyn Lawrence Bullard bed, which he explains was designed to reference the movie star’s aesthetic of the 1930s.
The room also includes lots of different textures, including a pair of armchairs and sofas that add to the feeling of warmth, as well as soft bedspreads, which add to the feeling of comfort in the room.
To offset the use of soft fabrics throughout the room, the space also features stronger, heavier materials. These include a pair of bronze-ceramic bedside lamps, which Lawrence Pollard explains are outdated. The room also benefits from marble décor, with a carved and rounded marble coffee table in front of the bed, providing balance and contrast to the room’s subtle feel.
Marble is a luxurious material that is ideal for creating a subtle look in a home while still being very much in the quiet luxury direction. We spoke to Melissa Reid, creative director at Studio Burntwood who shares her expertise in using marble in home design, explaining, “Marble is synonymous with opulence and quality, and its endless versatility can create the most amazing designs.”
“The wide variety of colors and veins can create distinctive designs using bold colors and dramatic veins, such as lilac or arabescato marble,” concludes Reid.
