Will Anaheim get a better idea of who’s building its city?

Anaheim may be the next Orange County city to require subcontractors to disclose any state labor law violations they committed in the past five years before starting construction on new apartment complexes or commercial plazas in the city.

On October 24, Anaheim City Council members voted 6-1 to direct staff to return an ordinance requiring such disclosures for residential projects consisting of 20 or more homes and commercial or industrial projects consisting of 20,000 square feet or more.

During the meeting, Mayor Ashley Aitken said the proposed law would increase transparency for people who help build and develop Anaheim.
