Snowport has officially opened at Seaport for vacationers in Boston

The holiday season has officially begun, and one of our favorite things to do in Boston is back, too. On Friday, Snowport returned to the Seaport, and it’s bigger and better than ever.

What is snowport?

Every winter, the Seaport neighborhood transforms into a winter wonderland with activities, a tree lighting celebration, trimmings and trees to take home, and of course a massive holiday market filled with everything you need under the tree from local makers. You can also spot Snowport’s resident mascot, Betty the Yeti!

What can I buy at the Holiday Market?

Just about anything you want! This year, the Snowport Market will feature more than 120 vendors, 60% local to New England, and 71% minority and/or women owned. The market offers unique art, accessories, jewelry, home decor, gourmet foods, and more.

What about food and drink in Snowport?

There’s plenty to eat and drink in the 10,000-square-foot heated tent with beer garden-style seating and fire pits for relaxing. There will be four holiday-themed bars available, including the Jingle Bell Bar and the Dizzy Dreidel, which features rotating dreidel decorations.

For dining, you’ll find favorites like Tuscan kitschn serving pizza and meatballs, House cheese bread raclette service, Bluefin Serving chowder and lobster mac and cheese, Nada cart with empanadas, Breezy Hill Orchard Cakes, apple cider and much more.

When are the tree and candlestick lit?

The official holiday season begins with the tree lighting held on December 1, or the celebration of the beginning of Hanukkah with the first lighting of the menorah on December 10.

What else can you do in Snowport?

The Makers Club’s Craft Corner will host creative workshops for children and adults to make holiday-themed crafts, such as mason jar snow globes and festive holiday wreaths. You’ll also find a 10-foot long archway, perfect for kisses and sweet photos, and a “Winter Wishing Wall” where you can write your holiday wishes.

When does Snowport open?

Starting November 10, the Holiday Market will be open seven days a week, from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Starting December 11, opening hours will be extended, with the market open from 11am to 8pm from Sunday to Thursday and from 11am to 9pm on Friday and Saturday.
