As Season 3 of Only Murders in the Building comes to a close, fans believe the show’s killer is right before their eyes.

One of the best aspects of the Hulu original series Only Murders in the Building is that each season is a mind-bending mystery.

Since its debut in 2021, each of the show’s three seasons has focused on a murder (which takes place in the main apartment building) and the trio Charles, Oliver and Mabel try to solve while recording their true crime podcast.

However, in the ongoing third season, the killer doesn’t seem so clear as most of the cast has a motive. But some Eagle fans have claimed the killer is hiding in plain sight.

The third season of Murders on the Block revolves solely around the murder of Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd), the lead actor in the Broadway show Oliver.

Although the entire cast had a clear motive for Ben’s death wish, many fans focused on Loretta (Meryl Streep) as she had been feuding with Ben since day one and got into a violent altercation with him just hours before his death.

However, some other viewers zeroed in on a new suspect: Tobert, the camera operator hired by Penn to make a documentary about his Broadway debut.

Collider recently laid out the major clues pointing to Tobert being the killer including how his handwriting was similar to a vile message scrawled on Ben’s mirror, that he can lie convincingly, and how little the audience knows about him despite him being a main character.

While the clues build a compelling case against Mabel’s new boyfriend, OmitB backtracked on the “love interest who turns out to be the killer” storyline in season one when it was revealed that Charles’ girlfriend, Jean, had killed the season’s first victim.

Some fans think the show will finally play a role in making their biggest guest star the culprit because they’ve moved away from that angle over the past two seasons, but only time will tell which side is right.

Only Murders on the Block, seasons 1 and 2 are currently available to stream on Hulu. Find out more about Season 3 here.
