Professional soccer player Lionel Messi’s move to Inter Miami Football Club has sparked creative architectural designs for a home where he could reside.
One of the model homes, called “Macy’s Mansion in Miami” and shared on Instagram by Feliz Architecto, offers three floors of modern luxury, multiple terraces and several swimming pools, all set on an island. The project, which was previously reported by the Miami Herald, has garnered a great deal of attention online in recent days.
The architect, Jorge Luis Feliz Quintana, told FOX Business that its estimated cost will range between $80 million and $100 million.

“This number includes the careful selection of high-end materials, state-of-the-art technology and exquisite architectural details that would give the palace its distinctive character,” said Velez. “Moreover, they include the costs associated with building such a sophisticated infrastructure, as well as the exceptional services and amenities that would distinguish this luxury residence.”
The luxury house is designed in the form of an island and in the shape of the letter “M”.
Inside, the “M”-shaped mansion includes game rooms and a home theater as well as a huge garage, according to posts on social media by Veliz Arquitecto. The floor of one of the rooms has the word “Messi” on it.

Velez said his inspirations for the architectural concept include Messi’s “distinguished personality and distinguished career” and “the intrinsic connection to the marine environment”. In the project, he wanted to incorporate aspects of both into his design.
The architect used software like SketchUp and Lumion to bring the idea home.

“The initial concept for the mansion arose from a collaborative and enriching process” with Mexican architect ULI, Velez told FOX Business, adding that their “thoughtful and in-depth conversations” — and the ideas that emerged from them — provided the “foundation” for the design.

Messi, who previously played for Paris Saint-Germain, has been with Inter Miami since earlier in the summer, taking to the field for the Fort Lauderdale-based team for the first time during a match on July 21.
And in July, Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis told Fox Business Network that Macy’s arrival in the area had already begun to have a positive impact on the city’s economy.
