A stylish and modern knob or knob on a piece of furniture or a door, which blends perfectly with the overall look of the interior, is the most popular thing you can do now.
Door handles are the first thing we touch when entering a place. It is also the last thing we touch while leaving. That tactile feeling of holding a doorknob or knob, pressing or pulling on the door, can determine whether or not you feel welcome in a place.
Doors are one of the most intimate elements in a home, office, restaurant or anywhere else. Each door holds the key to stories and inner worlds; It allows you to enter and exit different spaces. You put your hands on it, press or pull, and so on, you enter each story.

Over the years, handles and knobs have undergone a massive transformation. It is difficult to determine the exact reason for this shift. But the safe bait will be because architects now know that they have the power to change the look and feel of a room by paying more attention to details, where door and furniture knobs and handles play an important role. Role.
the shift
Earlier, door and furniture knobs and knobs were mostly mass produced. This is still the case for most people. But custom-made doors, handles and knobs have recently gained popularity in interior design.
According to Mahmud Jani Kanak, a Dhaka-based architect from Chinta Stapatia, knobs and knobs have now been integrated into the broader architectural context, especially in interior design. “We can no longer say that knobs and knobs are just accessories for our home’s doors and furniture,” Kanak said. “Rather, they contribute to the overall rhythm and harmony of the space.”

Kanak had the opportunity to design door handles for both homes and furniture. What fascinates him most about knobs and knobs is that they interact and dialogue with light, shadow, and surrounding elements.
“This is how knobs and knobs create a visual symphony that engages us in many ways with the overall theme of the space,” he added.
Clean lines and simple shapes are trends that can be seen in kitchen and office cabinets. These designs are smooth and simple and provide a smooth experience when opening cabinet or closet doors. So much so that sometimes, when you enter a kitchen or office, you can’t even see the handles – they are just a simple slit at the top or bottom of the furniture door.
“Knobs and levers are more popular than handles now for several reasons,” Kanak said. “From a designer’s point of view, you can go crazy with handle designs without compromising the overall theme of the project. On the other hand, from a users’ point of view, handles are more accessible, especially for patients, the elderly and people with special needs: operating the handle No matter its shape or size, it is much easier to operate than a slippery circular handle.
Enhance visual aesthetics
Architect Rafia Mariam Ahmed specializes in designing door handles. One of her impressive projects is the interior design of Thai Emerald, a restaurant in Dhanmondi. The double doors to the private restaurant rooms have lotus-shaped door handles. When you close the door, the two halves of the handles come together in the middle and form a lotus flower.

“What interests me most about the doors is that each door contains not just one story, but multiple stories of people,” Rafia said. “It could be the door of a village house made of tin or a sleek, modern door in a metropolitan city, but doors, especially their designs and materials, always reflect something about the people who own them. This revelation is nowhere more evident than in the past,” Rafia told TBS. Door knobs or handles.
She points towards the lotus design of the Thai emerald door handles. In Thai tradition, the lotus flower is seen as a symbol of purity, devotion and spiritual awakening. The importance of the lotus flower in Thai culture inspired Rafia to design door handles after it.
Her inspiration for other projects also comes from diverse cultures: massive Egyptian doors with golden handles in the middle, circular decorations in Chinese temple doors, delicate gold accents in Roman door handles, etc.
“I love elegant lines while designing doors,” Rafia added. “So, when I want to experiment with door design, I do so with handles.” She designed the door handles of Terracotta Tales, another restaurant in Dhaka, in a slightly triangular shape, and the Gala Spa and Wellness Center is circular.

According to Rafia, what is most important in the design of door handles is how they feel when you hold them because “when someone uses a door to get into a place, you don’t touch it, you always touch the knob or knob.
Every person entering and exiting the house, room or closet is constantly interacting with the door handles, making this seemingly insignificant part of the interior extremely powerful.
Materials and prices
A stylish and modern knob or knob for a piece of furniture or a door that blends properly with the overall look of the interior is the most popular design currently. People can also choose their door handles from markets in Dhaka and even online sometimes.
The preference for this elegant and elegant design has helped door and furniture handles evolve into a more simple and modern look. For this type of door, metals such as copper, aluminum and stainless steel are usually used as materials. Sometimes, there are hints of wood and plastic in those that are readily available.
