Georgia Habitat for Humanity builds 4 new homes in Garden City

Four new homes are nearing completion in Garden City. “The infrastructure is ours to build homes,” Monisha Johnson said. Johnson is working with Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity to develop a new community. Saturday was a team building day for the nonprofit. “We are here with our corporate partners,” Bank of America, to build the team. “Not only are they donating money to our organization, we got a $5,000 grant, but they are also building on site with our construction team,” Johnson said. Bank of America and Habitat for Humanity can put stainless steel appliances inside the homes they build in Garden City. “I promise,” Patrick O’Neill said. Patrick O’Neill works at Bank of America and volunteers as a team builder. He believes the money was well spent. “We’re talking about four homes here on a street that are finished. One person has already moved in. And it’s really good to see that they’re bringing communities together, which is very important,” O’Neill said.

Four new homes are nearing completion in Garden City.

“The city of Garden City approached us about a partnership to build affordable homes in their neighborhood. This street ended up where you see the new foundation. And so the city of Garden City donated the infrastructure for us to build the homes,” Monisha Johnson said.

Johnson is working with Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity while developing a new community.

Saturday was a team building day for the nonprofit.

“We’re here with our corporate partner, Bank of America, to build the team. Not only are they donating money to our organization, we got a $5,000 grant, but they’re also building on site with our construction team.” Johnson said.

Thanks to a grant from Bank of America, Habitat for Humanity can put stainless steel appliances inside the homes it builds in the Garden City.

“They have a really nice open plan design. It’s done well. It’s much nicer than the first house I had. I promise,” Patrick O’Neill said.

Patrick O’Neill works at Bank of America and volunteers as a team builder. He believes the money was well spent.

“We’re talking about four homes here on a street that have been completed. One person has already moved in. And it’s really good to see that they’re bringing the communities together, which is very important,” O’Neill said.
