Inter Miami CF announced today that construction work began on Miami Freedom Park earlier this month. Inter Miami CF Stadium and the 58-acre state park and entertainment district at Miami Freedom Park are scheduled to open in 2025 and a groundbreaking ceremony will take place later this year. Miami Freedom Park is a 131-acre development centered on a new 25,000-seat soccer-specific stadium.

This exciting landmark is the project’s latest move forward in 2023, and is part of the landscaping of the environment that will make Miami Freedom Park a year-round destination for all Miamians and visitors to enjoy. Miami Freedom Park is a privately funded recreational development that will also include a new 58-acre public park that will be the largest new park in Miami, soccer fields, youth sports for the community, and a full suite of recreational and commercial offerings including office space, a hotel, shops, and restaurants. and additional experiences and attractions.

Crews and heavy equipment are now on site, carrying out ground and site works that will move across the 131-acre area in conjunction with vertical construction. This multi-phase effort will see rapid progress in the stadium, public park, entertainment, hospitality, retail and new infrastructure that make up the first phase of Miami Freedom Park. The Miami Freedom Park lease and redevelopment plan for the former Melreese Country Club were previously approved by voters and the City of Miami Commission.

Leasing and business partnership efforts are underway to attract the best partners, tenants and retailers, including established and emerging brands and companies, who will enhance this distinctive new Miami destination.

Earlier this year, Inter Miami CF ownership brought in experienced real estate investment and sports-focused real estate development veteran Devon McCorkle to lead the effort as president of Miami Freedom Park. Devon also coordinated a team of top design, engineering, project management and construction firms to bring Miami Freedom Park to this milestone and move the project into execution after completion of the planning phase and approvals.
