Milan — Drawing, drawing, writing, interior design, knitwear design and home decor are a balance that English artist and designer Luke Edward Hall is used to these days. “I’m a ‘yes’ person. I’m always open to new things,” he said, contemplating his long list of design projects.

The clothing and homewares brand he creatively directs, Chateau Orlando, will debut a capsule collection of kitchen linens he designed exclusively for Spotti Kitchen Studio in Milan on Monday. The product will be unveiled at a special event at the store’s Viale Piave location. With the support of Wemanage Group, Chateau Orlando is set to be established between London and Milan in 2022.

This collaboration draws inspiration from the lively French cookbook of handmade recipes for children, “La Cuisine est un Jeu D’enfants” by Michel Olivier, published in 1963.

Hall instilled an artistic flair, illustrating three of his all-time favorite recipes, which were printed on tea towels. The tomato print on a striped background was inspired by his green garden, and his love of cooking was printed on the bread bag and apron. Aside from designing the motifs, the natural beauty expert explained that he was also actively involved throughout the production stage to ensure that the prints remained directly on the fabrics. “I like this part and I want to participate and take fabric samples to make sure the print is good,” he added.

The linens are made from Italian cotton and will be available at Spotti Milano’s Viale Piave 27 location and online at Spotti.com and chateauorlando.com starting Tuesday.

In addition to fun clothing, especially knitwear, Chateau Orlando’s website features a variety of home decor and accessories. Last month, the brand collaborated with Italian bedding brand Cc-Tapis to produce a collection of rugs sold exclusively on the Cc-Tapis and Chateau Orlando websites.

Hall envisioned 1970s and 1980s-inspired geometric patterns of stripes and flowers in the collection’s rare jacquard weaving technique, which is made entirely by hand in the Cc-Tapis atelier in India. In 2022, Hall collaborated with Ginori 1735 for Profumi Lucchino, a collection of five candles and related collectibles inspired by his travels and the places he loves. In the same year, he designed a collection of textiles for the Venetian textile manufacturer Rubelli.

Spotti Kitchen Studio is a store located next to the Spotti showroom in Milan and serves as a convivial atmosphere for the store to host a calendar of social events where individuals have the opportunity to mingle with professional architects, interior designers, builders and contractors.

Claudio Spotti, owner of the upscale showroom, explained that Hall’s vision was an obvious choice for the company when envisioning its next custom-designed project.

Spotti Kitchen Studio was born as a project that told the story of the world of holistic cooking, Spotti said. We choose collaborations that can create synergy with transversal interlocutors who can complement the culinary experience and who have the same overall vision as Spotti and Chateau Orlando.
