Covington, Georgia – Firefighters continue to battle a blaze in a historic building in downtown Covington.
city officials said Channel 2 news Firefighting crews have been called to fight a fire in one of the city’s old buildings.

Firefighters have been battling the blaze since around 9 p.m. Friday, according to firefighting officials.
Crews at the scene confirmed that the fire has so far affected Shelvie Jeans, Shear Bliss, The Dude Store and New Shoez.
No injuries have been reported at this time.

In downtown Covington, some buildings are 200 years old. The age of the building affected by the fire is estimated to be between 100 and 150 years old.
The fire was still active as of 4 a.m. Saturday.
“Keep us all in your prayers, we need it,” said Joe Doss, City of Covington Fire Marshall. Channel 2 news.
The cause of the fires is still under investigation.
