The updated Toneoptic rpm cycle takes your stock vinyl for a new spin

In the world of vinyl collecting, cover art and the joy of discovering the perfect record to play are an integral part of the experience. But what if you could take your appreciation for vinyl to a whole new level? Enter the new rpm tonoptic, an updated version of the innovative vinyl storage rack we first covered last year. The Toneoptic rpm is not just an ordinary vinyl storage solution – it cleverly combines design and function, thus elevating your music listening experience.
Graphic designer turned brand strategist Fabian Gerhalter has dreamed up the idea over the years as a way to house his ever-growing vinyl collection, which amounts to 2,000 records. Born in Los Angeles and created in partnership with a designer and engineer who has worked with Frank Gehry Partners and Boeing Aircraft, this design is unlike anything seen before. What sets it apart is the patent-pending 90-degree rotation mechanism that will change the way you look at vinyl forever.
The updated Toneoptic RPM comes with a host of new features designed to take your vinyl collection storage to new heights. This design consists of 143 parts and was designed with modularity in mind. You can now mount it to walls using wall mounts or place it on flat surfaces, making it a versatile addition to any music listening environment.
Whether wall mounted or placed on a table, each unit stores 60-75 records. There are two dividers that allow for easy classification or organization of 7″, 10″ and 12″ records. When stored, the retractable rack stays close to the wall with the log spines facing out. When you want to navigate through vinyl, just like any record store setup, simply pull the powder-coated aluminum rack forward while the tray containing the albums rotates. Now, you can browse them with all the covers fully displayed.
The Toneoptic rpm is available in matte black or gloss white and measures 17.04 inches deep by 18.61 inches wide x 15.7 inches high. The compact size makes it easy to group multiple units together if more than one unit is needed to hold your entire collection.
The Toneoptic rpm is currently available in matte black or gloss white for $375, or $325 if you prefer the unmounted version, at toneoptic.com. There’s also a discounted price if you purchase a three-pack set, with shipping estimated to be sometime between January and February 2024.
