The magic of preparing for Christmas

Oh where to start!! Christmas time is almost here or for many of us, myself included, Christmas is already here. When it comes to Christmas, each of us thinks about different things. This can include music, food, the religious aspect, and spending time with family and friends, but I bet many college students, especially us girls, think about the decorations that come with the holiday season and have that strong feeling for decorating the house. Bedrooms, apartments or houses.
In my opinion this is the best part of Christmas. Don’t get me wrong, the food is good, spending time with family is always fun, and going to church on Christmas Eve and Day holds a special place in my heart, but I love the decor. Beyond the decor, listening to Christmas music is what makes the magic of Christmas special in my heart above all else.
Decorations, what about decorations that can make people feel the holiday spirit? Is it the trees that people decorate with ornaments, the wreaths that people place on doors, or the festive pillows and blankets to place on sofas or beds? Whatever it is, it can get people excited.
When it comes to decorating dorms, there are a few things to consider. The one thing that is usually most important is the size of the dwelling. Not everyone has enough space to put up huge Christmas trees, so consider at least a small or medium size if you have the space. Also when it comes to jewelry, think small. Why do we put huge decorations on medium or small trees? It should be relatively proportional.
Now onto the wall decor. Depending on the wall space you have, you may or may not be able to place wall decor. At least for me, unfortunately I don’t have a lot of wall space. My wall space is currently filled with wall decor from my organization. I wish I had enough room for some cute holiday decor. I have my door though. My door has a small wreath on it, and although I wish it was bigger, I don’t want it stolen. Next are festive pillows and blankets that you can place on chairs, beds, etc. My bed and chairs are currently filled with Christmas decor and I couldn’t be happier.
The magic of Christmas can be achieved with many things, and perhaps a little dorm decor is key especially when some of the things that make Christmas, Christmas are not accessible unless you live at home while going to school.
I want to keep in mind though that this can be a little pricey, and I’m sure since we’re college students it’s hard to afford some of this, so if that’s the case, try to find other things that will make Christmas feel magical. Maybe you can find events around your campus, hang out and watch holiday movies with close friends or even find events organized by your campus. Whatever it is, try to find something that can make it magical. With all this in mind, I wish you all a happy holiday.
