The design shortlist for the Dezeen China Awards 2023 revealed
Dezeen has announced the shortlist of 18 designs for the inaugural Dezeen Awards China cycle, which includes products from Sunon, Yann Design Studio and Leapx Design.
The shortlisted projects, which compete for awards in four different design project categories, represent the most innovative designs recently created in the country.
Among the projects are a custom lava-inspired side table, a smart brush with a built-in color-matching system, and a wearable air conditioner that senses the body.
The shortlist also includes a collection of steel-framed cork furniture and a series of lamps made from waste circuit boards.

The shortlisted projects were selected by our design jury which includes industrial designers Frank Chu and Min Chen, Michael Yeung from Michael Yeung Studio, Amsterdam-based Carol Beijings, and Design Shanghai Events Director Zhou Tan.
This is the first edition of the Dezeen Awards in China, which is held in partnership with Bentley Motors. The shortlists for architecture and interiors were published earlier this week, and this year’s Chinese designer categories will be revealed tomorrow.
All shortlisted design projects are listed below, each with a link to a dedicated page on the Dezeen Awards China website, where you can find an image and more information about the project.
The winner in each design project category will be announced at a ceremony in Shanghai in December, where the four winners will compete for the title of Chinese Design Project of the Year.

Dezeen China Awards is the first regional edition of the Dezeen Awards, celebrating the best architecture, interiors and design in China.
