Ian Maxut launched Tinderland Candle at the end of 2022 in Cornish, Maine, with the goal of creating sustainable, natural candles made in Maine. All candles are hand poured using a blend of natural coconut wax and soy wax infused with essential oils to help fill the room with wonderful scents.

We asked Ian what his most ‘Maine’ scents are.

My favorite “Maine” scents are Maine Winter (a beautiful blend of pine, rosemary and cedar), Great Northwoods (a wonderful pine scent) and Balsam Fir (the perfect Maine Christmas tree scent). Our best seller recently, for fall, is Spiced Apple Cider, which is a wonderful blend of apples, cinnamon and vanilla.

Lisa Marie has been promoting Maine products in Maine for over thirty years, and has continued to expand her love for locally made products. According to her website, she collaborated with about 50 craftsmen and craftsmen in 2003, and has since collaborated with many others.

Its stores in Portland and Bath remain family owned and operated, and are proud to promote 400 other small Maine businesses that make the likes of jewelry, pottery, photography, books, clothing, chocolate and much more.

Stonewall Kitchen

With locations in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, Stonewall Kitchen is a Maine-based company headquartered in York that features a café with items made from ingredients on its shelves. You’ve probably tried the infamous jam or delicious mustard.

They are also known for their sauces and jellies, among other locally made items. They also have a lot of Maine kitchen items, like hand towels and dishes.
