For Studio McGee’s first international design project, our team collaborated with Chris Brandon of California-based Brandon Architects to design the architecture for the sprawling 22,852-square-foot property on the shores of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. “We are pleased to present our latest international projects,” Chris said. “Inspired by the timeless appeal of Spanish design and the surrounding stunning ocean views, our team embarked on a journey to craft a harmonious family retreat that embodies the spirit of coastal living. It has been an honor to collaborate with such amazing clients whose unwavering trust and appreciation for design has made it possible for us to realize this vision. Therein lies the true beauty This home is in its seamless integration of indoor and outdoor living spaces, inviting an immediate connection to the natural wonders that unfold from every corner of this stunning property. For the comprehensive construction of Cabo Dos Vistas, Studio McGee and Brandon Architects collaborated with Cabo San Lucas-based Cabo Development Group. The house took three years to create and presented a unique challenge for our team as the first international project in our portfolio. “The types of wood used in Mexico are a little different than what we’re used to, so we had to look at a lot of wood samples to choose the right type or one that would suit others,” Shea and the design team noted. “We weren’t prepared for the names we know to not be represented outside of the United States.” “ Stay tuned here in the coming weeks as we explore other building materials used throughout Cabo dos Vistas, such as plaster, limestone, and clay.
