As you would expect from the stylish businesswoman and founder of the lifestyle brand Sticky substanceGwyneth Paltrow’s California home is a chic, minimalist space with a natural, organic look.
Although we’ve previously taken inspiration from many rooms of the design-led home, not least the calm and sophisticated entryway, we’re taking a closer look at the sophisticated living room.
Pictured above, the serene living room adheres to a largely simple color palette of soothing neutrals, while textures promote a feeling of luxury and timeless charm.
The room’s design nods to the Art Deco movement with the curved doorway and clean, simple lines seen throughout the space, while the high ceilings give the room a luxurious feel.
“There’s a lot to love about this skillfully curated living space,” explains interior design expert Kathy Kuo.
“Aspects of Art Deco, Mediterranean elegance, and wabi-sabi elegance come together beautifully for a design idea that is both refined and personal. I love the juxtaposition of modern geometric shapes and patterns with organic design elements, like the marble accents and potted tree. And of course, The addition of a hanging daybed makes this space feel luxurious.’ Kuo notes.

Interior design expert Kathy Kuo founded her eponymous home store in 2012 — and since then it’s become an e-commerce destination for luxury furniture and decorating essentials from a variety of beloved home sellers. Cathy and her shop specialize in styles such as French Country, Coastal Beach, and Modern Classic while offering interior design services to their clients.
The furniture uses soft curves and has a simple shape, while the large hammock hanging next to the floor-to-ceiling glass doors looks unexpected. It’s certainly not a piece of furniture you’d normally expect to see inside a home, but the room’s spacious proportions and strong connections to nature through organic textures and large plants make it an obvious addition to the space. To us, it seems to be the most peaceful and idyllic seating arrangement to relax in.
