Fans are loving the different skins, which are all based on the look of the original logo from the manga series (see Reddit post below). It makes this the one series for which you shouldn’t skip the main credits after the first episode, no matter how tempted you might be if you binge-watched it (see our pick of the best TV logos of all time for more pieces of treasure).

Netflix’s One Piece is an adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s much-loved manga series developed by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda. The film stars Inaki Godoy, Emily Rudd, McEnew, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Taz Skylar as key members of the Straw Hat Pirates who are out in search of the eponymous One Piece.
The main logo was designed by New York-based Arisu Kashiwagi based on the original manga series’ logo, right down to the colors and Monkey D. Luffy’s straw hat on the skull. She said that to differentiate the series from other pirate shows, she kept many elements of the original logo but simplified it by pairing the bold sans serif typeface with a realistic image of the Jolly Roger and inserting the original title in Japanese katakana characters within the English letters. .
However, the logo that appears at the beginning of the series changes with each of the eight episodes, retaining only the original Japanese font and title. The hat changes in each design, creating Jolly Roger-like designs for different characters. Colors change too, while some designs also feature patterns and other references. Fans seem to appreciate this initiative.

“This was my favorite touch. They’re all so good,” one fan wrote on Reddit. “They didn’t have to do it. But they did! Love it,” another person wrote. Another person added: “I really loved this! The live version of Eyecatchers.”
Fans have been picking their favorites, and are already speculating about what logo designs they’ll see in Season 2 (if they’re made, Netflix has yet to officially confirm that). “I’m so glad they gave Sangis the furrowed eyebrows in his logo,” another person wrote. “Give us one for Chopper, Ace, Croscodile, and Vivi, and an Alabasta-themed one for next season,” another person urged.
