Prototypes of the successor to the Porsche 718 Boxster EV have been spotted on several occasions since late 2022, but the latest sighting was the first to reveal its interior. The all-electric vehicle features a technology-rich dashboard, combining sensitive touchscreens with physical knobs and switches.
The dashboard of the next-gen Boxster has a digital instrument cluster and a large infotainment touchscreen, similar to the upcoming Macan EV. Below the center screen, we find aircraft-style switches, climate vents, and dual USB ports. Controls for the climate and seat heating/ventilation functions have been moved to the slanted central tunnel, providing a set of touch-sensitive buttons and physical knobs. Finally, we can see the small drive selector in front of the additional controls that could be replaced with a storage compartment on the production model.

Previous press reports revealed that the Porsche Boxster electric car will have a trunk and a trunk, which will allow the Boxster to maintain its practical advantage over its competitors. We also know that the charging port is located on the rear bumper, making it easy to connect to a wall box.
In typical Porsche fashion, the exterior design will be modern yet familiar. Spy shots indicate that the model will have familiar proportions, albeit with modern design features inspired by the Taycan. Given the electric-only nature of the car, the side intakes and exhaust pipes are expected to be deleted, resulting in a cleaner look. Along with the soft-top Boxster, we expect a hard-top Cayman coupe to join the lineup.
While specification details have not been shared with the public, the pictured prototype shows a remaining range of 125 kilometers (78 miles) with the battery level at 53%. This does not necessarily mean that the range on a full charge will be 235 km (146 mi), as the development prototype could have been pushed hard before filming affecting the estimates. After all, the Macan EV prototype revealed similarly disappointing range in previous viewings. According to the latest reports, the new Boxster could be offered with different battery capacities in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive forms.
The zero-emission vehicle is expected to debut in late 2024. Porsche CEO Oliver Blume has confirmed that electric car successors from the 718 line will go on sale in 2025. He also suggested that the models will initially be offered alongside the outgoing models. His mandate. ICE-powered counterparts, at least for a few years.
